General Setup

  • How do I setup my add-in?

    • Here is a link to detailed instructions on how to setup your add-in: Getting Started

    • Note: This app is for your desktop only. It is not available on mobile devices.

  • Can I use the add-in with more than one inbox?

    • Yes. Simply open the add-in within the inbox for any email address, log into the add-in using the account you used to sign up, and you're good to go!

  • What are aliases?

    • Aliases are names that people refer to your products, or units, by that are not the exact product name.

      • From the example above, simply add “Morning City Classic Tour” as an Alias for the “Sydney Classic Tour” product. The system will remember then always know that when someone refers to the “Morning City Classic Tour” they mean the “Sydney Classic Tour”.

  • How do I tell the system that emails from a particular sender are always for a specific partner? / How do I associate a sender’s email address with a particular partner?

  • What email platforms does the add-in work on?

    • Currently, our Email Add-In works on Outlook and Gmail. Please contact support@tourconnect.com if you would like to get a quote for integrating with your email platform.

Data Extraction (Prefill from Email)

  • How do I prefill/extract data from an email? / What fields/data can be extracted from an email?

    • We are constantly updating which fields we can extract data for. To see which fields we can extract, click the “Prefill from Email” button, and a light bulb will appear next to each field we can prefill/extract data for. Here are detailed instructions on the prefill/extraction feature: Prefill Data from an Email

  • The system didn’t prefill/extract the right data from my email, what now?

    • You can click on the light bulb icon next to any field to select different data that was extracted. If you still don’t see the data you need, you can manually enter the data in any field in the form (like you would if you were doing the process manually).   • Can I help the system get better results prefilling/extracting data from an email?

    • You can help get better results by adding aliases and associating sender email addresses to specific partners. Here’s a link on how to improve your extraction results: Getting Better Extraction Results

  • The system didn’t prefill/extract any data from my email, what now?

    • You can simply use the booking form like any other form - just select who you want to create the booking for, fill in the details, and hit Book Now. It’s that simple. Here are detailed instructions on the prefill/extraction feature: Prefill Data from an Email

  • Can the system prefill/extract booking data from attachments like PDF’s, spreadsheets, and word documents?

    • No. Currently, prefill/extraction only works from the body of an email. In the future, you will be able to extract from PDF’s, spreadsheets, and other documents. This is coming soon.

  • Can the system prefill/extract multiple bookings from one email?

    • No. Currently, prefill/extraction only works for one booking at a time. In the future, you will be able to extract from PDF’s, spreadsheets, and other documents.

Creating Bookings

  • How do I create a booking for a specific partner?

    • Simply select the partner you want to create the booking for in the partner dropdown at the top of the Add-In. Here are detailed instructions on how to create a booking in the Add-In: Create a Booking

  • How do I create a direct booking (one that didn’t come from a partner)?

    • Simply select Direct Booking in the partner dropdown at the top of the Add-In. Here are detailed instructions on how to create a booking in the Add-In: Create a Booking

  • Can I create a booking in the add-in that isn’t related to the email I have open?

    • Yes, you can create a booking for any partner, or a direct booking, from any email. You can use the booking form like any other form - just select who you want to create the booking for, fill in the details, and hit Book Now. It’s that simple.

  • Can the system create multiple bookings at one time from the add-in?

    • No. Currently, you can only create one booking at a time from the booking form. In the future, you will be able to create multiple bookings at a time from the booking form.
